Keeping in Touch

Well...things have certainly been challenging this week. Yesterday I spent what seemed like hours on the phone with the financial aid office at my school. It seems that filing bankruptcy does more than wipe off debt. It also cancels out financial aid. So, in October when Master and I filed our papers, I got a letter from my loan lender saying that all loans had to be canceled. Well, I contacted the financial aid office and found out I needed to sign a new promissary note and fill out a request for review. So, I did. Then I got a letter stating that I was in default on my loan repayment, so I had to contact the Department of Education, who I rehabilitated my loans through, and had to get a form W36 saying that I wasnt in default anymore. Deed two done! Well, I still havent gotten my financial aid disbursement so I called the financial aid office AGAIN! Heres the rub...when I filled out my request for review, I did it before my loan provider sent the notification to my financial aid office so my request had no merit. My review has to be dated AFTER the notification. So...this morning I am off to the university to fill out a new request form so that I can get my money. Then I have to go buy my books because classes start on Monday. Thank heavens all my classes are all online this semester.
